The Coloured Collection

The Coloured Collection is a celebration of Aotearoa through colour, form, and story.

Proudly made in New Zealand, The Coloured Collection will continue to grow over time. Series 1 begins with three much-loved native birds — the tūī, the kiwi, and the pīwakawaka — with future series and seasonal releases still to come.

Inspired by the natural beauty of New Zealand and the things that shape our sense of home.

This collection has been created to bring a little meaning and character into everyday spaces. Each piece is designed to feel more than decorative — a small reminder of the landscapes we love, the wildlife that surrounds us, and the connection so many of us feel to this place.

Series 1 begins with three much-loved native birds — the tūī, the kiwi, and the pīwakawaka — with future series and seasonal releases still to come.

Te Hītori o te Tūī

Tūī

The tūī is one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive native birds — known for its iridescent plumage, white throat tuft, and rich, varied song. Found only in New Zealand, it belongs to the honeyeater family and feeds mainly on nectar from native flowers such as kōwhai, flax, pōhutukawa and rātā, helping pollinate the landscapes it moves through. Tūī are also admired for their intelligence and their remarkable voice, often filling the bush and garden with sounds that are bold, musical, and full of personality.

There is something unforgettable about the tūī. It arrives with presence — lively, expressive, and impossible to ignore. In this collection, the tūī represents vitality, voice, and the vibrant spirit of Aotearoa. It is a piece that celebrates movement, colour, and the feeling of life in the trees after rain or beneath a bright New Zealand sky.

Te Hītori o te Kiwi

Kiwi

The kiwi is one of New Zealand’s most treasured birds — a taonga found nowhere else on earth. It cannot fly, has loose, hair-like feathers, strong legs, and no tail, giving it a character unlike any other bird. Kiwi are also long-lived, with some living between 25 and 50 years, and their chicks hatch fully feathered, venturing out to feed when only a few days old. The kiwi has become a national icon, but it is also a powerful reminder of the rarity and uniqueness of Aotearoa’s wildlife.

Quiet, curious, and deeply loved, the kiwi carries a sense of humility and strength. It is not showy, yet it means so much. In this collection, the kiwi speaks to identity, endurance, and the precious things worth protecting. It is a tribute to a bird that feels woven into the story of this country — gentle in nature, strong in meaning, and unmistakably our own.

Te Hītori o te Pīwakawaka

Pīwakawaka

The pīwakawaka, or fantail, is one of Aotearoa’s most recognisable native birds — small, quick, and full of charm. It is known for its distinctive fanned tail, agile flight, and cheerful presence. Fantails are insect-eaters, catching food on the wing, and are one of the few native birds that have adapted well to environments altered by people, which is why they are often seen not only in native bush, but also in gardens, orchards, and open spaces close to home.

There is a kind of everyday magic in the pīwakawaka. Light, playful, and often darting close as if to say hello, it has a way of making people stop and smile. In this collection, the pīwakawaka represents joy, curiosity, and the small beautiful moments that stay with us. It is a celebration of movement, delight, and the lively spirit woven through the natural world of Aotearoa.
